Nordbang outdoor
The partylabel Nordbang, located at club Nordstern in Basel, stands for excellent electronic music played by some of the best producers and djs worldwide. Now Nordbang leaves it’s home port in Basel and hosts the Studio 41 at the Montreux Jazz Festival.
With dj-sets played by Andrea Oliva, Nic Fanciulli and Shlomi Aber, the people behind Nordbang offer to the Studio 41-guests their usual breathtaking clubsound for which Basel’s community loves them. Andrea Oliva is one of Switzerland’s best known djs with booking-requests from clubs all over Europe (he has also played at the famous Panoramabar Berlin). Signed at dj Luciano’s label Cadenza he stands for energetic sets that are made for dancing.
Nic Fanciulli is a DJ, producer and label owner who has remained one of the UK’s finest exports in electronic music throughout the last decade. A Grammy nominated producer, Nic has worked with artists as diverse as Underworld, Kylie Minogue, U.N.K.L.E, Loco Dice, Josh Wink and Tracey Thorn in addition to producing a plethora of solo club focused tracks that have achieved both critical and commercial acclaim. Now releasing on the likes of Rejected and Souvenir, Nic is responsible for a high output of a sleek, intelligent yet driving strain of house and techno.
Recognized as one of the main techno pioneers and influential artists of the recent time, Shlomi has the kind of impact usually reserved for inbound meteors, the reason for which is buried in a ground swell of genre-defying appreciation and support. a comment taken from a recent “Radio 1” interview provides a probable insight as to why his productions are hitting such a broad mark, “No matter if it’s hard or soft, it just needs to touch your mind, body and soul at the same time. That's what I call a ‘Good Record’.” This personal approach, married with 12 years production experience that takes influence from jazz, funk, minimal, acid and, in particular the old school Detroit techno movement. Aber has created some of the most recognizable and unique techno of modern times.
Andrea Oliva, Nic Fanciulli and Shlomi Aber cobined in a Nordbang-night to remember; only at Studio 41 / Montreux Jazz Festival.
